When someone is living with a serious mental illness, their family and friends may also be affected.

At Sharp Grossmont Hospital, we understand that facing mental illness in a loved one can be confusing and challenging. Our family and friends support group provides support, education and resources to help people with loved ones who are living with a mental illness. 

Participants will learn about mental illness and what to expect based on their loved one’s specific diagnosis. The group provides a safe environment for patient caregivers, family members and support people to ask questions and share their experiences. Participants also learn healthy ways to help their friend or family member, as well as what resources are available.

The group is open to anyone in the community and your loved one does not need to be a patient at Sharp Grossmont Hospital to attend.
