In-Person childbirth preparation in one class.

This is an in-person class designed for busy couples who want the basic facts about childbirth preparation in one day.
Topics covered in this course include:
- How your body prepares for birth and delivery
- Hospital procedures
- Medication choices
- Brief overview of coping skills
- Cesarean delivery
- Postpartum

Student Observation: If you are not an expectant parent and need to observe a class, approval must be obtained prior to attendance. Arrival
Keep our community healthy
We’re excited to return to in-person classes, but we need your help. Please do not attend if you have any symptoms of illness.
If you are attending the class at Sharp Grossmont Hospital for Women & Newborns, all visitors age 18 and older are required to present a government-issued photo ID upon arrival.
What to Bring
We encourage you to have a support person with you at the class.
Please bring 2 pillows and a blanket for class.
This is a long class and frequent breaks will be provided. Please bring water and snacks. Also, it’s a good idea to pack your lunch so you won’t have to go far during your lunch break. The facility has a refrigerator and a microwave if you need it.
