Safe Patient Mobilization Refresher Class for SCVMC Employees

This annual refresher class is required for all Sharp Chula Vista employees whose work assignments include handling or mobilizing patients or who have sustained a work-related injury due to patient mobilizations.
The hands-on class, taught by physical therapy staff, reviews safe patient mobilization techniques (repositioning, transfers, etc.) and the use of lift equipment. Each participant will have the opportunity to practice techniques before getting signed off on their annual competency.
This is a refresher course and is not intended for newly hired employees or those who have not taken a safe patient mobilization class at Sharp Chula Vista before. Sessions specifically designated for new hires/students are available by registering at Safe Patient Mobilization Class for New SCVMC Employees.

Free visitor parking is available in the parking structures and lots located in front of and behind the main hospital.
Presenter Information
The instructor varies by class but it is a member of our physical therapy team.
What to Bring
All attendees will need to complete the online learning modules and test in the Sharp Learning Center before attending the in-person class. You will need to bring a printed copy of the completion certificate from the online modules to gain admittance into the class.
CEUs
This course is provider-approved by the California Board of Nursing (Provider No. 70) for 3.0 contact hours.
