This group exercise class is taught by specialty-trained physical therapists and is open to people who have a diagnosis of Parkinson's disease or parkinsonism. It consists of eight sessions, meeting twice per week with an emphasis on large amplitude and high-intensity exercises targeting Parkinson's disease deficits.
This group class will be limited to five participants to allow for more individualized engagement and attention. You will learn Parkinson's specific exercises to help improve and maintain functional mobility.
All participants must have been previously evaluated by a physical therapist at Sharp Grossmont Hospital Outpatient Physical Therapy. Please call 619-740-4430 to schedule your evaluation before enrolling in this class.

Parking Information
Patients and visitors can park in the parking garage located next to the hospital. The first hour is free. Patient visits are $4 for every 24 hours (with proof of visit). Visitors are charged $4 for 1 to 4 hours, and $2 for every 15 minutes thereafter (maximum of $20 a day). Multiday passes are available for $15 for 7 days. Valet parking is available Monday through Friday in front of the main hospital entrance and the emergency room from 8 am to 5:30 pm for $7 ($3 with handicapped placard).

Special Instructions
Participants should be able to tolerate an hour of exercise and be able to safely walk in and out of the facility without assistance.
Presenter Information
- Pamela Singh, PT, is a senior physical therapist III at Sharp Grossmont Hospital, where she works in the Outpatient Neurological Physical Therapy Department as a Parkinson's disease specialist. She has a Bachelor of Science in physical therapy from the University of Toronto (1994) and has almost 30 years of experience. She has current certifications with Parkinson Disease specialization with Parkinson's Wellness Recovery (PWR), LSVT BIG, Parkinson's Foundation Allied Team Training and Parkinson's Foundation Advanced Team Training (cognition).
- Simary Rosario, PT, DPT, is a graduate of the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program at San Diego State University and is currently a physical therapist at Sharp Grossmont Rehab specializing in an outpatient neurological setting. She is certified through the Parkinson's Foundation, PWR and LSVT BIG to provide individualized, Parkinson's-specific treatments for people with Parkinson's. In addition to her regular duties, Rosario is a member of the Deep Brain Stimulation team for Sharp Grossmont's upcoming Neurosciences Center.

Arrival
Please arrive 15 minutes before the start time of the class. After parking, please follow signs for the Lymphedema and Vestibular Clinic at Sharp Grossmont Brier Patch in building B.

Please bring a water bottle and yoga mat with you to each class.
