AVADE Level I-III Renewal Class for Sharp Security Officers
This workplace and de-escalation training is mandatory for all Sharp security and off-duty officers.

This level I-III class is for Sharp security and off-duty officers (ODOs). It is designed to provide training to help you prevent violence in the workplace via a program known as AVADE (awareness, vigilance, avoidance, defense, escape/environment).
This training offers informative, proactive strategies and interventions that can help prevent and mitigate fear, conflict and aggression, while creating a culture of safety. The class is comprehensive and relevant to stop escalation and reduce risk of injury to staff.
You will receive training strategies and techniques to mitigate escalated and violent behavior through proactive communication skills and techniques for real-world escalated situations. The class will also cover workplace violence, verbal de-escalation techniques, self-defense tactics and defensive control tactics.

If you need to cancel your registration for this event, please call 1-800-827-4277 Monday through Friday, 7 am to 7 pm, or log in to your account to cancel online.
Parking Information
Employee parking for the Sharp Corporate Office is available on the east side of the building. Please enter the parking structure via Gate 4 or 5 using your Sharp employee badge from Tech Way off Kearny Villa Road. A parking permit is not required.
After parking, you can enter the Sharp Corporate Office through the southeast or south entrance. Please make sure to arrive early to get to class on time.
Fee Information
Please note that Sharp employees are subject to a $25 payroll deduction if they do not attend or if they cancel or reschedule less than 24 hours prior to the start time of the class.
Special Instructions
Classes may be cancelled due to low enrollment. If a class is cancelled, you will be notified by phone two days before the class and will have the opportunity to attend another date.
Arrival
Students enrolled in this class will receive a welcome email directly from AVADE prior to their course date. The email will contain instructions and a link to create an account to access the online student guide/e-book. Please make sure you have access to the e-book before your class.
Participants who arrive more than five minutes after the class start time will be asked to reschedule.
What to Bring
- Please wear comfortable clothing. You will be asked to perform self-defense movements
- A lunch break will be provided. Please plan to bring your own food and beverages
- If your class is at the Sharp Corporate Office (Spectrum), please make sure to bring your Sharp ID badge if you are an employee
