Flu, COVID-19 and RSV vaccines
Reducing the spread of respiratory illnesses is more important than ever. Stay up to date on your flu, COVID-19 and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) vaccines to protect yourself and your loved ones.
Vaccination clinics for Sharp Rees-Stealy patients are closed for the 2024-25 season.
Patients who have a scheduled primary care appointment can receive the flu and COVID-19 vaccine at their appointment upon request. Certain specialty care departments, including allergy (Chula Vista and Rancho Bernardo), cardiology, endocrinology, OBGYN, oncology, pulmonology and rheumatology will also offer the flu vaccine while supplies last.
Flu vaccine
Your doctor and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommend that everyone age 6 months and older receive the annual flu vaccine. In addition to the standard flu vaccine, we also offer a flu vaccine designed for adults 65 and older.
COVID-19 vaccine
The CDC recommends that everyone age 6 months and older get a COVID-19 vaccine. We are offering the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine.
If you prefer to receive the Pfizer or Novavax vaccine, visit MyTurn.ca.gov to find community pharmacies and vaccination clinics offering this vaccine.
RSV vaccine
An RSV vaccine can help protect older adults from severe RSV infection. The CDC recommends an RSV vaccine for everyone age 75 and up and for adults ages 60 to 74 who are at an increased risk of severe RSV. Older adults who have received an RSV vaccine in the past do not need to get another one at this time.
The RSV vaccine is recommended for pregnant people between 32 and 36 weeks gestation during RSV season. Please contact your OBGYN provider for your RSV vaccine.
Nirsevimab, an antibody injection, is recommended for infants younger than 8 months old to protect them from severe RSV. Infants age 30 days and younger should receive the immunization at their primary care doctor's office.
Mask recommendation
Wearing a mask that covers your nose and mouth is highly recommended at all times in our medical centers.

There is no minimum waiting period between getting the flu, COVID-19 and RSV vaccines. We recommend you get all vaccines available to you, especially if making multiple visits to our clinics may be difficult.
People with minor illnesses can be vaccinated. However, if you might be contagious to others, you should wait to recover before receiving a vaccine. Ask your care team if you have additional questions regarding your specific situation.
