Early Recognition of Patient Deterioration Class
This class gives Sharp Memorial nurses the tools to recognize signs of early deterioration in acute care and critical care settings.

Evidence suggests that patients can show signs of deterioration up to eight hours before becoming unstable. Failure to recognize these signs can lead to increased morbidity and mortality.
This class is designed to give Sharp Memorial bedside nurses the tools to recognize these signs of early deterioration in acute care and critical care settings. The instructor will highlight collaborative practices between a rapid response team, nursing staff and physicians in taking take corrective action to increase the likelihood of a positive health outcome.
At the conclusion of this program, the learner will be able to:
- Use the tools provided to recognize patient deterioration
- Effectively communicate the patient's condition to the physician
- Collaborate with the health care team to develop a plan of care for the patient

Parking Information
